THE retail sector may have been having a tough time of late but, as shoppers in Liverpool showed last week, there is one shining exception.
There were queues round the block at Liverpool’s new Primark before it opened on Wednesday – and the store was even forced to stay open late that day to cope with the volume of customers.
Even into this week, the discount retailer still had crash barriers up to marshal the hordes wanting to splash their cash.
We ventured into Liverpool to see what all the fuss what about.
Upon arrival, we laughed at the sight of a sea of brown paper Primark bags! People in their droves were walking up and down Church Street clutching the bags from both hands. Don't we all love a bargain!
Actually, it's really very good value, and mixing the odd £4 top with an expensive pair of jeans you got from a top designer is all the rage at the moment! With these kind of prices you can wear them once and bin them! Well, recycle them to be politically correct!
Will we see the latest Primark designs down the catwalk along with Prada, Gucci and Chanel? What do you think, is it fab fashion, or to use the words of Gerald Ratner, is it crap?!
