It was dinner suits and ball gowns last Saturday as we were invited to a celebrity charity ball in aid of the Five Stars Scanner Appeal. The theme of the event was 'Carribean' which was quite amusing really, based on the fact that it never stopped pouring with rain all day and the grounds surrounding the enormous marquee was reminiscent of the bud baths at Glastonbury! (slight exaggeration!)

There were no wellies at this prestigious event however, but more gorgeous, ornate and flashy Jimmy-Choos on show. We felt badly for the plethora of young ladies walking around with mud between their toes, wishing they had brought something like waders!

This is what we should have worn!
There were a few girls around who used their fluttering eyelashes to good effect and persuaded helpful men to literally carry them to the toilets and back, which involved a short walk through mud soaked carpet!
Bad weather aside, we all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The marquee looked beautiful, the entertainment was fabulous and everyone had a superb evening. We had asked a few friends to join us to make up a table and of course much alcohol was consumed! (Don't worry, nobody drove, we hired a stretch limo for that!)

As always at these do's there were plenty of well known celebrities ranging from Chris Bisson, Samia Smith, Emma Rigby, Shobna Gullati, Steven Arnold, Lee Sharp and John Conteh to name but a few.

Being a Carribean theme, there were professional limbo dancers showing how low they could go! Some of the celebs even had a go!
There was a lovely Jamaican fellow doing a wonderful barbeque outside under an umbrella! Jerk chicken was on the menu, which was delicious even though it left most people in need of an oral fire extinguisher!

Adam shows off his new muscles, fueled by too much wine!
Finally our limo took us home to arrive somewhat worse for wear at our respective houses by about 3am. This is not great when you have to get up early the following morning to produce some beautiful portraits at the Yaffé studios!!!
We managed of course!

Hi Sandra and Adam! You both appear to get to some of the most exciting places! I read about this charity ball in the Sunday Mirror. Do you have to be invited to this kind of event, or can you buy tickets?
