Celebrity Bash

Posted by Adam and Sandra on June 9, 2007 7:37 PM |

We've been to some amazing parties. We've met some international celebrities, and photographed many too! This week another invitation landed on our desk inviting us to a VIP celebrity party. The party host was indeed very famous, and the list of VIP celebrity guests was even more impressive! We couldn't possibly say no!

One thing that's terribly annoying, and this happens a lot with us, was the dress code printed on the tickets. Dress to impress.

Now what on earth does this actually mean? It's not black tie, it's not really lounge suit and it's not jeans and a t-shirt. Or is it? Why can't they just say, formal or casual or purple flared trousers and a repulsive flowery shirt?!!!

What would you do? Please let us know!

When we arrived, we were presented with VIP wristbands with access to 'all areas'! How exciting. We moved straight to the VIP lounge, and this is where it all started to go wrong.

A garden fence style see through panel and a tough looking security guard was all that separated us from everyone else, and everyone else had access to the bar. That wasn't fair! But... we did have a champagne fountain. Well sort of. The fountain was there but appeared to be lacking a vital ingredient... Champagne! There was supposed to be lovely bubbly pouring out of all the shiny spouts waiting for people to present their glasses to be filled and enjoyed! But, alas, there was a small amount of (presumably flat) Champagne swilling around the bottom. To our horror, there were a handful of people actually using a glass to scoop up the dregs and pour it into another glass to try and make up a full glass of the stuff. Now that's desperation! Even funnier was the look on some people's faces watching this social faux pas!

Face hidden to protect the guilty!

We had every intention of photographing ourselves with the many exciting well known names to put here on this very blog. However, here was our next problem. There weren't any. The pre-published list of famous names read so well, but it would appear, unless they were hiding underneath the buffet tables of chicken drumsticks, sausage rolls and ham butties, that they had a better offer of somewhere else to go!

However, we do have a little tradition that everytime we go out, we take a picture of ourselves, camera held out by our own arms! Here is our latest one...
